A Classic New Orleans Wedding with a Church Ceremony, Second Line, and Mercato Reception

When New Orleans Charm Meets Wedding Day Magic

When it comes to timeless weddings, few places offer the romance and energy of New Orleans. This wedding day was a beautiful tribute to both a love story and the vibrant culture of the city.

Getting Ready at Pontchartrain Hotel & Hotel Monteleone

The day began with preparations at the Pontchartrain Hotel and Hotel Monteleone, where the bride and groom got ready surrounded by family, friends, and their bridal party. The talented teams at Flawless Bride Beauty and McKey Bridal Co. ensured everyone looked their best. With bouquets and florals by Nola Flora, every detail felt thoughtfully curated.

A St. Mary’s Ceremony, Second Line, and Mercato Reception

The traditional Catholic ceremony took place at the historic St. Mary’s Church, where the couple exchanged vows during a full mass. Afterward, guests joined one of New Orleans’ most iconic traditions — a second line parade, led by Kinfolk Brass Band, which guided everyone through the streets to the reception.

At Mercato, the celebration continued with cocktails, a delicious buffet by Joel’s Catering, and live music from D Play Band. The newlyweds shared their first dance to That’s How Strong My Love Is by Otis Redding, followed by parent dances, cake cutting featuring sweets by Bittersweet Confections and Maurice’s French Pastries, and plenty of fun on the dance floor with light-up party favors.

The evening ended with a private last dance before the couple made their grand exit through ribbon wands and into a classic Rolls Royce getaway car — the perfect ending to a classic New Orleans celebration.
